Etoile lake was formed during the 1700's through the digging of peat for fuel. The lake was purchased from the French peat fuel industry and sucessfully converted into the popular Carp Fishery you know and love today.

Today, the size of the lake is approximately 7 acres and each swim has been positioned perfectly to give every angler his own space. The lake is completely surrounded by trees and covered in lily pads.

As well as the lily pads there are overhanging trees, islands and some lovely margin to explore during your stay with us. The lake and surrounding area is very pretty and is just what you would expect from a beautiful and well maintained Carp Fishery.

March 2001
The lake stock was increased by 202 carp (75% mirror and 25% common) ranging from 18lb to around 35lb, significantly boosting the lake’s original stock. 4 catfish were also added at this point ranging from 8lb to around 20lb.
 
Early 2007
We are in the process of adding several monster carp (between 50lb and 60lb) to the lake which we are sure will make your trip not only more exciting, but very rewarding too!! 

November 2007
30 new fish added:

12 new fish added
20lb - 30lb = x4 30lb - 40lb = x5 40lb - 45lb = x2 50lb - 55lb = x1 

November 2008
15 X Grass Carp ranging between 20lb and 38 lb introduced into the lake.

November 2009
15 x common added between 20lb and 36lb.

May 2010
12 new fish added
