FOR ALL YOUR SUPPLY NEEDS WHY NOT TRY.....

FOR ALL YOUR TACKLE NEEDS WHY NOT TRY.....

Etoile lake is situated in the beautiful Somme Valley and is a friendly run business that takes pride in doing all that it can to ensure guests really enjoy their stay. We are just 75 minutes drive from Calais so we are able to offer great week or short breaks tailored to meet your needs but without the long drive. Once you have arrived in France you could have your rods out within a couple of hours.

The lake dates back to the 1700's when it was used for the digging of peat. It was purchased from the French peat fuel industry and then successfully converted into the popular carp fishery that you see today. The site covers approx 7 acres and each swim has been positioned perfectly to give every angler their own space. We have 9 swims, 6 of which are platforms that have been built to comfortably accommodate "double bivis".

As well as lily pads during the summer months, there are overhanging tree's, an island and some lovely margins to explore during your stay. The River Somme runs right next door to the lake so for those anglers that like to combine their carp fishing with a few relaxing hours on the river this is the ideal location. Please click here to to see views of the river and some of the beatiful Barbel.

The local village is less than a minute's drive and very friendly. It has a supermarket, baker, tackle shop, bar, bank and petrol station, so will cater for all your needs. In all, a truly wonderful location to get away from it all.

Carp Academy Future

Keith Williams recently spent time with children from Knossington Grange school who had previously shown an interest in angling. Keith has been involved with school projects since last October after a team leader at the school, Kieran Chapman, spoke of his idea's about an academy. The objective of the academy is to promote "forward thinking learning" to coincide with the national curriculum. This may give the boys an oppotunity to leave school with several qualifications, not only in angling, but will be a recognisable qualification.

Here at Etoile we were very pleased to provide Keith and his team with full access to the lake and facilities for a week at a discounted price. This allowed the children to experience various aspects of carp fishing and angling in general. We wish Kieran (and Keith) all the best in the future with this venture.
